An inverse latitudinal gradient in intraspecific genetic diversity of a dominant ant in the neotropical savanna

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Although latitudinal gradient of diversity (LGD) is a biogeographic pattern widely shown for distinct animal groups, some display the opposite pattern, with biodiversity peaking away from the equator. These inverse gradients may result from drivers that also overlap with extrinsic factors shaping genetic diversity across taxa, a level of ...

ATRIBUTOS QUÍMICOS E FÍSICOS DO SOLO, ESTOQUES DE CARBONO E NITROGÊNIO E FRAÇÕES HÚMICAS EM DIFERENTES FORMAÇÕES VEGETAIS

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2015
Cerrado biome is the second largest Brazilian biome, where different phyto-physiognomical features are observed, which may be influenced by soil factors.

Modelos hipsométricos ajustados para um fragmento de cerrado Sensu stricto tocantinense [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Agrogeoambiental, 2019

Taxonomy and diversity of Marcgraviaceae, north of the São Francisco river, northeast Brazil

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, Volume 2026, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study provides a comprehensive assessment of Marcgraviaceae species diversity north of the São Francisco river in northeastern Brazil, analyzing species richness and distribution patterns across 384 000 km² of phytogeographic domains. Through field collections, herbarium studies (both physical and digital), and detailed morphological analyses, we ...

Carbon Stocks in Compartments of Soil Organic Matter 31 Years after Substitution of Native Cerrado Vegetation by Agroecosystems

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo, 2016
Changes in carbon stocks in different compartments of soil organic matter of a clayey Latossolo Vermelho Distrófico (Typic Haplustox), caused by the substitution of native savanna vegetation (cerrado sensu stricto) by agroecosystems, were assessed after ...

Seasonality as a structuring factor of the dung beetle community in burned neotropical savannas

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 2, Page 336-345, April 2026.
We tested the effects of fire, vegetation cover and seasonality on dung beetle communities, focusing on species richness, composition and co‐occurrence patterns in savannas. Fire did not affect species richness. However, seasonality was the dominant factor influencing species composition, followed by fire and vegetation cover.

Produção de serrapilheira no Cerrado e Floresta de Transição Amazônia-Cerrado do Centro-Oeste Brasileiro Litterfall production in the Brazilian mid-western Amazonia-Cerrado transition forest

open access: yesActa Amazonica, 2007

STRUCTURE AND DIVERSITY OF THE ARBOREAL COMPONENT IN CERRADO SENSU STRICTO IN NORTHERN MINAS GERAIS

open access: yesFLORESTA, 2020
Due to a rapid change in the land use in northern Minas Gerais State, southeastern Brazil, large amounts of cerrado have been converted into crops. There is little information about the structure and diversity of the remaining communities in the region.

The role of habitat simplification and seasonality in shaping interactions between ants, plants and herbivores in a neotropical savanna

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 2, Page 381-394, April 2026.
We evaluated how chronic anthropogenic disturbances (CAD) and seasonal variation influence interactions between ants and plants with extrafloral nectaries (EFN's), with emphasis on the responses of ants, herbivores, and plants. Ant and herbivore diversity remained stable across seasons in the preserved cerrado, whereas the pasture had higher ant ...
