Background Glucuronoyl esterases belong to carbohydrate esterase family 15 and catalyze de-esterification. Their natural function is presumed to be cleavage of ester linkages in lignin–carbohydrate complexes particularly those linking lignin and ...

Effect of different wavelengths of light on laccase, cellobiose dehydrogenase, and proteases produced by Cerrena unicolor, Pycnoporus sanguineus and Phlebia lindtneri [PDF]
Three species of white rot fungi: Cerrena unicolor, Phlebia lindtneri and Pycnoporus sanguineus were cultured in two different media under five different lighting conditions: dark, white, red, blue, and green light. Laccase, cellobiose dehydrogenase, and

Whole-cell fungal transformation of precursors into dyes
Background Chemical methods of producing dyes involve extreme temperatures and unsafe toxic compounds. Application of oxidizing enzymes obtained from fungal species, for example laccase, is an alternative to chemical synthesis of dyes.

For efficient biopulping process, very active and stable lignase is essential. Laccase is one of the best enzyme in terms of environmentally benign processes, since the enzyme uses oxygen as an oxidant to degrade lignin and produces no hamful products. We could purify a laccase homogeneously from Cerrena unicolor in a very active state.

Osteology of the first dorsal fin in two terapontids, Leiopotherapon unicolor (G|nther, 1859) and Amniataba caudavittata (Richardson, 1845), from Western Australia: evidence for hybridisation? [PDF]
Osteological characters, such as number of supraneural bones anterior to first neural spine, number of spines on first dorsal pterygiophore, position of insertion of first proximal dorsal pterygiophore and number of anterior proximal dorsal ...
