Certified reference materials for thermal analysis
Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1988Eight inorganic substances recommended by ICTA as temperature standard reference materials for DTA and DSC were studied: KNO3, KClO4, Ag2SO4, K2CrO4, quartz, K2SO4, BaCO3 and SrCO3. The content of pure component in each of these substances was determined by classical chemical analysis.

COMAR — database for certified reference materials
Fresenius' Zeitschrift für analytische Chemie, 1988With more than 130 producers of reference materials (RM) throughout the world, it is often difficult to find the best reference material for a specific application. The computer database COMAR has been developed to aid chemists in finding the needed reference material.

Reference materials for thermal expansion: certified or not?
Thermochimica Acta, 1993Abstract Many dilatometers in common use can have significant systematic errors in determining linear thermal expansion as evidenced by round-robin measurements on reproducible materials. The need for reference materials to check these dilatometers can usually be met by rods of OFHC Cu, semi-conductor grade Si, W, Pt (rather expensive!), sapphire (of

Accreditation and the need for certified reference materials
Mikrochimica Acta, 1996The comparability of data from accredited laboratories is not always as good as customers would desire. A number of reasons for this fact are given. Clients of laboratories do not specify methodology, which may lead to the application of systematically different methods or to methodology with improper performance characteristics.
