Demonstrating the comparability of certified reference materials

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2009
Certified reference materials (CRMs) enable the meaningful comparison of measurement results over time and place. When CRMs are used to calibrate or verify the performance of a measurement system, results produced by that system can be related through the CRM to well-defined, stable, and globally accessible reference(s).

A Certified Reference Material for HPLC

Chromatographia, 2005
A column and test samples have been produced as a Certified Reference Material (CRM) for use in HPLC. A round robin certification procedure has demonstrated that the retention and relative retention properties of the column, measured as the values of shape selectivity, hydrophobicity and ion-exchange activity at pH 7.0, under closely specified ...

Reference materials and certified reference materials for spectrometry in Romania

Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 2001
Several reference materials (RMs) and certified reference materials (CRMs) are widely used in Romania as measurement standards in different spectrochemical measurements. Among them, single element standard solution certified for their mass concentration play a key role in ensuring the required traceability of results expressed in this measurement unit.

Certified reference materials for thermal analysis

Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1988
Eight inorganic substances recommended by ICTA as temperature standard reference materials for DTA and DSC were studied: KNO3, KClO4, Ag2SO4, K2CrO4, quartz, K2SO4, BaCO3 and SrCO3. The content of pure component in each of these substances was determined by classical chemical analysis.

Are certified reference materials really expensive?

TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, 2003
The aim of the present work is to highlight some considerations to be taken into account regarding the price of certified reference materials (CRMs) used in measurement. This paper examines existing guidelines and some future trends in CRM production, and gives some considerations on CRM costs.

COMAR — database for certified reference materials

Fresenius' Zeitschrift für analytische Chemie, 1988
With more than 130 producers of reference materials (RM) throughout the world, it is often difficult to find the best reference material for a specific application. The computer database COMAR has been developed to aid chemists in finding the needed reference material.

Development of bovine serum albumin certified reference material

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2011
We present the development process for National Institute of Metrology (NIM) bovine serum albumin (BSA) certified reference material (CRM). Each CRM unit contains about 200 mg of purified BSA. The moisture, ignition residue, molecular weight, and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) purity were analyzed and mass spectrometry based protein ...

Development of pure certified reference material of stevioside

Food Chemistry, 2018
Pure stevioside was extracted from leaves of Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) to be used as a reference material in the instrument calibration or method validation process. The mass fraction was determined by comparison between the mass balance method and quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance (qNMR) spectroscopy. The impurities in the sample were analyzed

Reference materials and certified reference materials for water and food microbiology

Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 1993
The concept of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) for the verification of the accuracy of analytical methods and the traceability of the results to a CRM, is well accepted in chemistry. The use of Reference Materials (RMs) for intra-laboratory quality control schemes or for round-robin and proficiency testing is well established and follows from ...
