Cuproptosis Facilitates Chronic Skin Inflammation by Regulating the α‐Ketoglutarate/H3K4me3/Ferritin Heavy Chain 1 Signaling Pathway‐Mediated Ferroptosis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
Cuproptosis plays critical roles in psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (AD). SLC31A1‐mediated cuproptosis increases α‐ketoglutarate, activating KDM5B, which demethylates H3K4me3 domains in FTH1, lowering its transcription and promoting ferroptosis, thus advancing inflammatory skin diseases.

Micronutrient deficiencies after pancreatico‐duodenectomy: A narrative review of the literature and recommendations for clinical practice

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, Volume 40, Issue 5, Page 1073-1092, October 2025.
Abstract Micronutrient uptake is impaired after pancreatico‐duodenectomy (PD) because of malabsorption, reduced absorptive capacity, and poor oral intake. Biochemical depletion is reported in cohort studies, but deficiency states are predominantly reported in case reports, making it difficult to assess occurrence rates.

Diagnosis and Monitoring Pathways Using Non‐Invasive Tests in Patients With Alpha‐1 Antitrypsin Deficiency‐Associated Liver Disease: Results From an Expert Delphi Panel

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 13, Issue 8, Page 1446-1455, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims The severe alpha‐1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) genotype Pi*ZZ increases the risk of liver disease (AATD‐LD) and lung disease. While non‐invasive tests (NITs) are widely used for fibrosis stage and monitoring of all liver diseases, the consensus for use in AATD‐LD is limited.

Copper Homeostasis, Emerging Central Players in Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 29, Issue 19, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Copper ions serve as multifunctional signalling molecules that are integral to various cellular processes in vivo, including cell proliferation, apoptosis and migration. The storage, transport and homeostatic regulation of intracellular copper are closely linked to mitochondrial function.
