La ceruloplasmine a ete determinee dans le liquide spermatique de l'homme. On a trouve des valeurs basses pour cette enzyme et une diminution significative au point de vue statistique a ete observee dans les cas d'azoospermie.

The binding of copper in human ceruloplasmin [PDF]
Mit Photooxydation und Diazotierung wird gezeigt, dass Histidinreste an der Bindung von Kupfer an Caeruloplasmin beteiligt sind.

Rat ceruloplasmin: Resistance to proteolysis and kinetic comparison with human ceruloplasmin
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1992Rat ceruloplasmin was purified from serum using fast protein liquid chromatography and compared to human ceruloplasmin isolated in the same manner. Rat ceruloplasmin was found to be more resistant to plasmin-mediated proteolysis than was human ceruloplasmin.

Structure/Function Relationships in Ceruloplasmin
1999Ceruloplasmin belongs to the family of multinuclear copper oxidases, which also includes ascorbate oxidase and laccase (Solomon et al., 1996). These proteins are trinuclear copper cluster enzymes, as documented by spectroscopic and functional studies in solution for laccase (Aliendorf et al., 1985; Spira-Solomon et al., 1986) and ceruloplasmin ...

Maternal serum ceruloplasmin in preeclampsia
International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 2005Preeclampsia is a disorder of pregnancy with increased maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. Endothelial cell dysfunction is important in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia. An imbalance between free radical induced lipid peroxidation and antioxidant system has been suggested as a possible pathogenic factor for impaired endothelial cell ...

Divalent cation binding to ceruloplasmin
Biometals, 1996Binding of calcium to human and sheep ceruloplasmin was investigated by metal substitution with manganese and competitive displacement of bound manganese by calcium monitored by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The Kd for calcium was found to be 1.4 mM. Magnesium also bound to ceruloplasmin, with Kd = 0.3 and 0.7 mM for the human and sheep

Hereditary ceruloplasmin deficiency with hemosiderosis
Human Genetics, 1996Hereditary ceruloplasmin deficiency with hemosiderosis (aceruloplasminemia) is a new disease characterized by systemic hemosiderosis, diabetes mellitus, neurological abnormalities and pigment degeneration of the retina. Loss of the ferroxidase activity of ceruloplasmin results in systemic iron deposition and tissue damage.

Study of Interaction of Ceruloplasmin with Serprocidins
Biochemistry (Moscow), 2010This paper describes formation of complexes of ceruloplasmin (CP) with such proteins of the serprocidin family as azurocidin (CAP37), neutrophilic elastase (NE), cathepsin G (CG), and proteinase 3 (PR3). We present evidence that serprocidins form complexes with CP at a molar ratio 1 : 1.

On the population genetics of the ceruloplasmin polymorphism
Human Genetics, 1972The frequencies of Cp-variants in 3 European, 1 Asiatic and 3 African populations are reported. The most striking fact is the high incidence of the CpA-allele not only in the African but also in 2 European samples.
