Abstract A total of 168 patients with cervical dysplasia were followed for from 6 weeks to 5 years. In 71 women (42 per cent), a regression of dysplasia was observed. In 59 patients (35 per cent), dysplasia persisted. Progression to or coexistence with carcinoma in situ was found in 30 women (18 per cent).
