Cervical dystonia incidence and diagnostic delay in a multiethnic population. [PDF]
BackgroundCurrent cervical dystonia (CD) incidence estimates are based on small numbers in relatively ethnically homogenous populations. The frequency and consequences of delayed CD diagnosis is poorly characterized.ObjectivesTo determine CD incidence ...

ABSTRACT Traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) caused by sharp‐force penetration is exceptionally rare, and the use of high‐dose methylprednisolone (MP) remains highly controversial, especially beyond the conventional 8‐h treatment window. This case report describes a 30‐year‐old male with acute incomplete TSCI following a knife stab wound to the right ...

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Importance of cervical length in dysmenorrhoea aetiology
The objective of this prospective case-control study was to determine whether uterine corpus and cervical length measurements have a role in dysmenorrhoea aetiology in virgins. Patients with severe primary dysmenorrhoea with visual analog scale scores of ≥7 composed the dysmenorrhoea group (n = 51), while the control group (n = 51) was of women with ...

Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Mining for viral fragments in methylation enriched sequencing data [PDF]
Most next generation sequencing experiments generate more data than is required for the experimental set up. For example, methyl-CpG binding domain (MBD) affinity purification based sequencing is often used for DNA-methylation profiling, but up to 30% of
