Disintegration of the KITENIN/ErbB4 Functional Complex by the Flavonoid Hispidulin Suppresses Colorectal Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Hispidulin disrupts the KITENIN/ErbB4 oncogenic complex and inhibits KITENIN‐mediated AP‐1 activity, cell invasion, and aerobic glycolysis. It also suppresses the production of cancer‐associated metabolites and downregulates transcriptional regulators downstream of the KITENIN complex.

A CASE REPORT OF DIFFICULT DIAGNOSIS IN THE PATIENT WITH LARYNGEAL CANCER

open access: yesСибирский онкологический журнал, 2016
We present a case of the difficult morphological verification and ambiguous interpretation of immunohistochemical examination of cervical lymph nodes metastases from unknown primary tumor with late clinical diagnosis of laryngeal cancer.

Diagnosis of Rosai-Dorfman Disease by Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology in a Case with Cervical Lymphadenopathy and Nasal Mass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We report a case of Rosai-Dorfman Disease, a rare non neoplastic proliferative disorder of the cells of macrophage-histiocyte family, in a case with cervical lymphadenopathy and nasal mass diagnosed by fine needle aspiration ...

High Fat Low Carbohydrate Diet Is Linked to CNS Autoimmunity Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mapping global epidemiological data to macronutrient supply reveals high carbohydrate, in contrast to high fat supply, associates with increased multiple sclerosis (MS) prevalence and incidence. This is confirmed in a mouse MS model, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), using isocaloric diets: a high carbohydrate diet aggravates, a high ...

Segmentation of 3D High-frequency Ultrasound Images of Human Lymph Nodes Using Graph Cut with Energy Functional Adapted to Local Intensity Distribution [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Previous studies by our group have shown that three-dimensional high-frequency quantitative ultrasound methods have the potential to differentiate metastatic lymph nodes from cancer-free lymph nodes dissected from human cancer patients. To successfully perform these methods inside the lymph node parenchyma, an automatic segmentation method is highly ...

A Gradient Mapping Guided Explainable Deep Neural Network for Extracapsular Extension Identification in 3D Head and Neck Cancer Computed Tomography Images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Diagnosis and treatment management for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is guided by routine diagnostic head and neck computed tomography (CT) scans to identify tumor and lymph node features. Extracapsular extension (ECE) is a strong predictor of patients' survival outcomes with HNSCC.

Enrichment of innate lymphoid cell populations in gingival tissue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) are a population of lymphocytes that act as the first line of immunologic defense at mucosal surfaces. The ILC family in the skin, lungs, and gastrointestinal tissues has been investigated, and there are reports of individual

Cervical Lymph Node Schwannoma—An Unexpected Diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Pathology, 2019
Introduction: Schwannomas—Schwann cells–originating tumors—may develop in many locations. However, primary schwannomas arising within lymph nodes are extremely rare, with only a few cases described to this date in the English literature. For the intranodal location, most of the cases are described in the abdominal cavity. In these cases, clinicians may

PROS1‐MERTK Axis Drives Tumor Microenvironment Crosstalk and Progression in Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Identifying biomarkers associated with PTC, particularly those related to PTMC progression, is crucial for precise risk stratification and treatment planning. This study utilized single‐cell RNA sequencing on 19 surgical tissue specimens, confirmed PROS1/MERTK axis as a critical component of the cellular microenvironment and a key regulatory mechanism ...
