Family CERVIDAE Gray, 1821 Gen. et sp. indet. A right mandible, FM-2100 (Fig. 3J), and its left counterpart, FM-2101, are the only cervid remains from the Miocene of Strumyani (SW Bulgaria). The teeth are in medium wear, and well preserved. The premolars are long relative to the molars, especially p2 that is almost as long as p3 and p4.

Trypanosomes in cervidae in Germany

A, Medizinische Mikrobiologie, Infektionskrankheiten und Parasitologie, 1984Trypanosoma cervi Kingston et Morton, 1975 was demonstrated in 2 fallow deer (Dama dama) in 1976, and in 10 roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) and one red deer (Cervus elaphus) in spring 1983. The infected deer originated from the vicinity of Hannover, Germany.

Landscape effect for the Cervidaes Cervidae in human-dominated fragmented forests
European Journal of Forest Research, 2014We analyse the relationships between the main Cervidae [moose (Alces alces), red deer (Cervus elaphus) and roe deer (Capreolus capreolus)] species and a complex of environmental factors in an extensive fragmented landscape of Central Lithuania. The highest determining positive influence on moose density was the proportions of wet forest sites.
