Prospects for primary prevention of cervical cancer in developing countries

open access: yesSalud Pública de México, 2003
The HPV types that cause cervical cancer are sexually transmitted, but there is little evidence that infection can be avoided by behavioural changes, such as condom use.

[Complications of the treatment of cervix neoplasms by radiotherapy].

open access: yesCanadian journal of surgery. Journal canadien de chirurgie, 1986
Of 939 patients treated by radiotherapy for carcinoma of the cervix at the hôpital Notre-Dame in Montreal, between 1979 and 1981, 275 (29.3%) had digestive, urologic, gynecologic, vascular, osseous and cutaneous complications. Surgery was necessary to treat 73 complications in 55 patients (5.9%): 42 digestive (25 occlusions, 13 fistulas and 4 ...

PRC2.1 Coordinates Peri‐Nucleolar H3K27me3‐Enriched Heterochromatin Organization and NPM1 Pentamerization to Maintain Nucleolar Integrity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PRC2.1(PCL2)‐coordinated H3K27me3‐enriched PNH establishes a spatial scaffold crucial for nucleolar integrity. As a crucial coordinator, PCL2 links PRC2.1 to chromatin organization and NPM1 assembly. This network‐based model reveals how chromatin modifications and nucleolar components cooperatively maintain nucleolar architecture, revealing novel ...

Humanized and Charge‐Optimized CSPG4‐Specific CAR‐T Cells show Enhanced Efficacy against Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CSPG4 is identified as a high‐value, stemness‐associated target in HPV‐negative HNSCC. By implementing rational biophysical engineering, a humanized and charge‐optimized CAR is developed to overcome tonic signaling‐induced exhaustion. This strategy induces a profound transcriptomic shift toward a rejuvenated, stem‐like memory state, significantly ...

Mitochondria and Neuromast Tagging With Fluorescent Gallium‐Triapine Analogues: In Cellulo MP FLIM and Zebrafish Live Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fluorescent BODIPY‐conjugated thiosemicarbazone ligands and their Ga(III), In(III), and Fe(III) complexes, inspired by Triapine, are developed as theranostic agents. Multiphoton FLIM and confocal microscopy in cancer cells and zebrafish reveal real‐time uptake, mitochondrial localisation, and whilst spectroscopic assays indicated preserved complex ...

HNRNPU K181 Lactylation Drives Cervical Cancer Growth by Upregulating PHGDH and Reprogramming Serine Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate in cervical cancer induces HNRNPU K181 lactylation, opposed by NAA50‐mediated acetylation and suppressed by Pazopanib. This lactylation enhances HNRNPU binding to PHGDH pre‐mRNA exon 1, maintaining exon 1‐containing transcripts and mRNA stability, thereby activating serine metabolism.

A Keratinocyte‐Mast Cell NF‐κB2/CXCL2/IL‐6 Amplification Loop Enhances Cutaneous Antifungal Defense Against C. albicans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mast cells (MCs), key innate immune sentinels at the host–environment interface, serve as primary responders to invading pathogens. However, their specific contribution to host defense against cutaneous Candida albicans (C. albicans) infection and their synergy with other immune and non‐immune cells remain poorly understood. Here, we show that
