And-CFAR and Or-CFAR detectors design in Weibull background

IEEE 37th Annual 2003 International Carnahan Conference onSecurity Technology, 2003. Proceedings., 2004
The mathematical model of two novel constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detectors, the And-CFAR and Or-CFAR, are derived. The two new CFAR detectors improve the conventional cell averaging CFAR (CA-CFAR) and order statistics CFAR (OS-CFAR) by making full use of the cell information. The mathematical model has been validated.

The effect of windowing on the performance of the CA-CFAR and OS-CFAR algorithms

2015 IEEE Radar Conference, 2015
A major challenge in radar design is to not overflow the processor with false detections. This paper investigates the performance of Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) algorithms on maintaining a fixed false alarm rate when windowing is used to reduce the sidelobes in both the slant-range and the Doppler domain.

CFAR strategies for channelized radiometer

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2005
The channelized radiometer is a well-known intercept receiver. We analyze its performance when different constant false alarm rate (CFAR) strategies are used to set a detection threshold based on values of some reference cells. The studied conventional methods are cell-averaging (CA) and order statistics.

A modified robust CFAR detector

Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronic & Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, 2011
A modified variability index (MVI) CFAR detector is presented. The MVI is a combination of the cell averaging (CA), greatest-of (GO), and modified trimmed mean (MTM). The analytic expression of its threshold multiplier factor TMTM is also derived.

CFAR Detectors for MIMO Radars

Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, 2012
CFAR (Constant False-Alarm Rate) processors are useful for detecting radar targets in a background for which the parameters in the statistical distribution are not known. A variety of CFAR techniques such as CA (Cell Averaging), Go (Greatest Of), SO (Smallest Of), OS (Ordered Statistics) and ACMLD (Automatic Censored Mean-Level Detector) processors ...
