Analysis of a CFAR correlation radiometer
2015 International Conference on Military Communications and Information Systems (ICMCIS), 2015The two antenna correlation radiometer is used detecting unknown signals but its principle equals a single antenna detector where a signal is correlated by its delayed version. Its performance, its sensitivity to errors in noise power estimation as well as its constant false alarm rate (CFAR) form have been analyzed previously.

Asymptotically Optimal CFAR Detectors
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2015This paper investigates the asymptotic optimality of the Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) tests obtained using the Minimal Invariant Group (MIG) reduction. We show that the CFAR tests obtained after MIG reduction using the Wald test is a Separating Function Estimation Test (SFET) and that the Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test (GLRT) and the Rao test ...

DL-CFAR: A Novel CFAR Target Detection Method Based on Deep Learning
2019 IEEE 90th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Fall), 2019The well-known cell-averaging constant false alarm rate (CA-CFAR) scheme and its variants suffer from masking effect in multi-target scenarios. Although order-statistic CFAR (OS-CFAR) scheme performs well in such scenarios, it is compromised with high computational complexity. To handle masking effects with a lower computational cost, in this paper, we

Robust Distributed Sonar CFAR Detection Based on Modified VI-CFAR Detector
2019 International Conference on Control, Automation and Information Sciences (ICCAIS), 2019This paper proposes a robust distributed constant false alarm ratio (CFAR) detection algorithm to deal with the multistatic sonar target detection problem in the heterogeneous underwater environment. The local detector in the distributed sonar network employs the modified variability index (VI) CFAR where we apply the automatic censored mean level ...

In automatic target detection radars, adaptive constant false alarm rate (CFAR) processors, which determine the threshold, are examined. Two techniques are used for achieving the required CFAR. The first technique determines the adaptive threshold using range neighbouring cells which are located in sliding window. The second one is based on clutter map.

CFAR Outlier Detection With Forward Methods
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2007Separation or classification of signal-present samples from noise-only samples is studied. The false-alarm probability implies how many noise-only samples are wrongly classified as outliers, and typically it should be smaller than some upper limit. The noise distribution parameters are not known a priori and have to be estimated. Multiple outliers have

Adaptive CFAR detection of multidimensional signals
2001 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37221), 2002Adaptive detection of multidimensional signals in the presence of interference with unknown covariance matrix is an expanding topic in a variety of scenarios ranging from radar/sonar to digital communication systems. We attack the problem of detecting a multidimensional radar signal, modeled as an unknown N/spl times/H matrix, embedded in Gaussian ...

Fast Two-Dimensional CFAR Procedure
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2013An FMCW radar system, which transmits a sequence of rapid chirp signals, is considered to measure target range and radial velocity simultaneously even in multitarget situations. The main outcome of the coherent processing procedure applied to the received echo signal is the two-dimensional range-Doppler-matrix (RDM), which is the basis for an adaptive ...

CFAR Processors in Pulse Jamming
2003In this paper we study the efficiency of CA CFAR BI, EXC CFAR BI and Adaptive CFAR PI detectors in strong pulse jamming. We achieve new results for the average decision threshold (ADT) using the minimum detectable signal (Pd=0.5). For comparison we use also the approach with Monte-Karlo simulation for estimation of the ADT of the studied CFAR detectors.
