A Comparative Study on the Performance of CFD/LBM-DEM Coupling in Predicting Soil Fluidization [PDF]
Coupling discrete element method (DEM) with computational fluid dynamics including Navier-Stokes theories (CFD-DEM) and Lattice Botlzmann method (LBM-DEM) has been used widely to model the response of soil foundation under increasing seepage flows ...

Numerical simulation of construction of water-blocking wall based on CFD-DEM coupling method
The process of filling aggregate to block hydrodynamic pathway has been explored in an empirical way for a long time. A numerical model (CFD-DEM) is established to study the mechanism of water closure.

Morphology, Transport, and Dynamics of Protein Adsorption in Open‐Cell Metal Foam
Stainless steel (SS) open‐cell foams are shown to adsorb more protein per unit area than previously reported 316L SS and chromium oxide surfaces under static and flow conditions. An integrated approach combining 3D pore imaging, flow simulation, and protein adsorption experiments characterizes the foam’s performance.

AWJC Nozzle simulation by 6-way coupling of DEM+CFD+FEM using preCICE coupling library [PDF]
The objective of this work is to study the particle-laden fluid-structure interaction within an Abrasive Water Jet Cutting Nozzle. Such coupling is needed to study the erosion phenomena caused by the abrasive particles inside the nozzle.

Acetoacetates Derived From Vegetable Oils: A Platform for Tailor‐Made Vinylogous Urethane Foams
A renewable vegetable oil is converted into acetoacetate‐functionalized precursors for the preparation of catalyst‐free vinylogous urethane foams. Room‐temperature foaming with n‐pentane generates lightweight cellular materials, while the choice of amine enables control over foam structure and mechanical properties.
