CFD simulations of the MEXICO rotor

open access: yesWind Energy, 2011
AbstractThe wake behind a wind turbine model is investigated using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and results are compared with measurements. The turbine investigated is the three‐bladed test rotor (D = 4.5  m) used in the Model Experiments in Controlled Conditions (MEXICO) wind tunnel experiment.

From Flow to Function: Using Different Static Mixers to Fabricate Microarchitected Materials Via Chaotic Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Complex microarchitectures emerge from simple flow‐driven transformations as static mixers iteratively reorient and split material domains. Coupled with diverse deposition strategies, chaotic printing provides an accessible platform for fabricating architected materials that support biologically and chemically relevant processes. ABSTRACT Nature builds

Engineering Morphological Anisotropy to Control the In Vivo Transport Dynamics, Clearance, and Biodistribution of Silica Nanocarriers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Morphological anisotropy directs the in vivo transport under physiological flow and clearance of silica nanocarriers. Increasing anisotropy reduces cellular uptake, suppresses hepatic and splenic sequestration, and prolongs systemic circulation by steering particles toward the central flow core.

Comparative analysis of cycloid pump based on CFD and fluid structure interactions

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
At present, in the aspect of numerical simulation of cycloid pump, most studies focused on CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) in analyzing the pump performance under different service conditions (such as speed, temperature, etc.).

Molecular‐Level Pore Engineering for Precise Separation via Active Solvent‐Mediated Interfacial Polymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that microemulsion solvents can actively template molecular‐level pores within selective layer during interfacial polymerization. By creating localized quasi‐homogeneous polymerization zones, the membrane achieved a 7.1‐fold enhancement in water permeance with increased selectivity.

Aerodynamic research of a racing car based on wind tunnel test and computational fluid dynamics

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Wind tunnel test and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation are two main methods for the study of automotive aerodynamics. CFD simulation software solves the results in calculation by using the basic theory of aerodynamic.

Challenges and enablers in fluidization technology

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Gas–solid fluidized beds provide excellent heat and mass transfer for high‐throughput operations from coating to catalytic conversion and underpin emerging low‐carbon technologies. Yet industrial reliability, scale‐up, and control lag scientific understanding, particularly as finer, stickier, and more variable feedstocks increasingly challenge
