Water, water, every where—the advent of hydrated pili structure

Protein structure is defined by its surrounding water. Naturally, this is also true for the gigantic protein filaments that pathogenic bacteria use to attach to and colonize their host cells. Structures of these filaments for which water can be identified with high confidence have stayed elusive for the longest time.

Associations between diet quality and adult acne: A cross sectional study in the UK Biobank

Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Mediterranean‐style diet adherence was associated with lower odds of adult acne, particularly in women. In men, a low‐carbohydrate, high‐meat dietary pattern showed higher odds. Cooked vegetables and yoghurt were inversely associated, whereas pork, skimmed milk and milk‐based desserts showed positive associations.
