Evaluation of Sensitivity and Calibration of the Chaboche Kinematic Hardening Model Parameters for Numerical Ratcheting Simulation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Ratcheting failure of materials and structures subjected to low cycle fatigue in the presence of significant mean stress is of great interest to researchers.

Calibration of Chaboche Combined Hardening Model for Large Strain Range

open access: yesProcedia Manufacturing, 2020
Abstract Variable-loading path and large strain are two typical features in multistage plastic forming process. Material’s yield surface expands and translates simultaneously as the loading path changes, leading to certain transient phenomena such as Bauschinger effect.

An application of Chaboche model to predict uniaxial and multiaxial ratcheting

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2011
AbstractChaboche model can be used to predict the ratcheting phenomenon. The parameter determination of this model to achieve an accurate ratcheting prediction is of great importance. Therefore, the application of an optimization procedure can improve the prediction of this model.

Investigation of Chaboche and Bouc–Wen Parameters of Quenched and Tempered Steel and Comparison of Model Predictive Capabilities

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The aim of this paper is to model the elastic–plastic uniaxial behaviour of a quenched and tempered steel. The common Chaboche isotropic kinematic hardening model (CIKH) is introduced, and a physics-based procedure is proposed to determine its parameters.

On the Wellposedness of the Chaboche Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We formally state and prove the wellposedness and the local Lipschitz continuity of the multisurface stress-strain law of nonlinear kinematic hardening type due to Chaboche within the space of time-dependent tensor-valued absolutely continuous functions. The results also include the more general case of a continuous family of auxiliary surfaces.

High Temperature Mechanical Constitutive Modeling of a High-Nb TiAl Alloy

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials, 2018
Uniaxial tensile, low cycle fatigue, fatigue-creep interaction and creep experiments of a novel high-Nb TiAl alloy (i.e. Ti-45Al-8Nb-0.2W-0.2B-0.02Y (atom fraction/%)) were conducted at 750℃ to obtain its tested data and curves.

Numerical simulation of ratcheting and fatigue behaviour of mitred pipe bends under in-plane bending and internal pressure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper investigates the ratcheting and fatigue behaviour of 90 degree single unreinforced mitred pipe bends subjected to a cyclic in-plane closing moment with a non-zero mean value and constant internal pressure. An experiment was conducted to induce

Comparative study of fatigue assessment of defective material based on affected depth

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mécanique, 2022
In this work, we propose a comparative study of fatigue assessment of artificial surface defects based on affected depth (AD). The defect is assumed to be a void (semi-spherical, elliptical, or circumferential notches) on the surface of a material ...

Chaboche's Viscoplasticity Model for Strain – Space Plasticity

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2017
Abstract To obtain reliable stress and strain fields using finite-element simulations, the applied constitutive equations, in general formulated in terms of evolution equations for the stresses and a set of state variables, that should be able to describe hardening properties as well as micro structural aspects with sufficient accuracy.

Anisotropic behaviour law for sheets used in stamping: A comparative study of steel and aluminium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
For a car manufacturer, reducing the weight of vehicles is an obvious aim. Replacing steel by aluminium moves towards that goal. Unfortunately, aluminium's stamping numerical simulation results are not yet as reliable as those of steel.
