The genus Chaetoceros (Bacillariophyta) in Arctic and Atarctic

Novosti sistematiki nizshikh rastenii, 2016
A floristic review of the genus Chaetoceros from Arctic and Antarctic waters is undertaken. Taxonomic composition of the Chaetoceros from the Russian Arctic seas, as well as from some regions of the Antarctic was investigated in both water column and sea ice.

Characterization of allelochemicals of the diatom Chaetoceros curvisetus and the effects on the growth of Skeletonema costatum.

Science of the Total Environment, 2019
Allelopathy has been regarded as chemical weapons for marine phytoplankton that enhanced competition ability in stressful conditions, especially during blooms.

Antifreeze Protein in Antarctic Marine Diatom, Chaetoceros neogracile

Marine Biotechnology, 2009
The antifreeze protein gene (Cn-AFP) from the Antarctic marine diatom, Chaetoceros neogracile was cloned and characterized. The full-length Cn-AFP cDNA contained an open reading frame of 849 bp and the deduced 282 amino acid peptide chain encodes a 29.2 kDa protein, which includes a signal peptide of 30 amino acids at the N terminus.

Unsupervised pixel-wise classification for Chaetoceros image segmentation

Neurocomputing, 2018
Abstract Chaetoceros is a dominant genus of marine planktonic diatoms with worldwide distribution. Due to the difficulty of extracting setae from Chaetoceros images, automatic segmentation of Chaetoceros is still a challenging task. In this paper, we address this difficult task by regarding the whole segmentation process as unsupervised pixel-wise ...

Mercury-induced genotoxicity in marine diatom (Chaetoceros tenuissimus)

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2015
In this paper, we present an evaluation of genotoxic responses in marine diatom, Chaetoceros tenuissimus, isolated from Kandla Creek (lat 23.03° N, long 70.22° E), Gujarat, India, in terms of impairment of DNA integrity as a function of their exposure to elevated levels of mercury (Hg) under laboratory conditions. DNA integrity in C.

مقایسه سیلافین استخراج شده از دو ریزجلبک Chaetoceros calcitrans و Chaetoceros muelleri

2019

Comparative analysis of mitochondrial genomes of Chaetoceros species

Journal of Phycology
AbstractChaetoceros is one of the most diverse genera of marine planktonic diatoms. Chaetoceros species are common and may become dominant in coastal ecosystems. Many Chaetoceros species can develop harmful algal blooms with negative effects on the aquaculture industry.
