Soil‐borne fungal diseases in Aotearoa New Zealand pastures: a significant research blind spot
ABSTRACT In Aotearoa New Zealand (AoNZ), where pastoral agriculture is vital to the economy, reports of pasture plant species failing to persist in long‐term pastures, particularly in northern regions, are increasingly common. The underlying cause of this decline in pasture persistence remains elusive.

Exploring Unspecific Peroxygenase Selectivity with Diverse Hydrocarbon Substrates
Unspecific peroxygenases (UPOs) are versatile enzymes that can be used for different reactions. However, selectivity of UPOs needs to be evaluated for the desired application. Thus, the selectivity of a panel of UPOs was evaluated in this work, and it revealed diverse reactivity profiles depending on the enzyme and substrate.

Soils amended with chitin or black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) frass reduced Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lactucae propagules compared to non‐amended soil. Changes observed in microbial communities could be involved. Abstract BACKGROUND Organic soil amendments rich in chitin have demonstrated significant potential promoting suppressive soils.

PBS‐based biodegradable composites were compounded with neat, surface‐modified flax fiber to develop sustainable, water‐repellent, mechanically, and thermally stable bio‐based packaging material. ABSTRACT Applying surface modification routes to natural fibers is a practical option for solving the incompatibility problem in polymeric composites.
