Multielemental Analysis in Rice Grains by Total Reflection X‐Ray Fluorescence

open access: yesX-Ray Spectrometry, Volume 55, Issue 5, Page 743-753, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Rice ( Oryza sativa ) is a staple food cultivated worldwide and represents a significant source of essential nutrients for humans. However, this cereal may also contain potentially toxic elements including chromium, arsenic, and lead typically present at trace concentrations (ng.g−1).

Guild‐Specific Frog Responses to Natural Habitat Structure Gradients in an Atlantic Forest Mosaic

open access: yesEcological Research, Volume 41, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study investigated how habitat structure gradients are associated with frog species richness and occupancy in a naturally heterogeneous Atlantic Forest mosaic. We found that frog richness and occupancy patterns varied among ecological guilds and were highest in sites associated with lower values of the habitat structure gradient, which also ...

Applying Biochar With Fertilisers Decreases Nitrogen and Phosphorus Leaching and Improves Phosphorus Availability: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 9, September 2026.
Applying biochar with fertilisers significantly reduced N and P leaching. NO3−, NH4+, and PO43− leaching decreased by 13.2%, 1.5%, and 16.5%, respectively. Applying biochar with fertilisers did not affect soil NH4+ and NO3− availability. Applying biochar with fertilisers; increased soil PO43− availability by 21.9%. ABSTRACT Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (

Is There an Urban Inclusivity Premium? Gender Wage Gaps Across Brazil's Urban Hierarchy

open access: yesGrowth and Change, Volume 57, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper examines how gender wage inequality varies across the urban hierarchy and whether more central and diversified labor markets are associated with smaller female wage penalties, a pattern we define as the Urban Inclusivity Premium. Using matched employer–employee microdata from Brazil, we estimate Mincerian wage equations and Oaxaca ...

Systematics of Marmosa Subgenus Micoureus With Emphasis in ‘rapposa’ Group (Didelphidae, Marmosini): Geographic Variation and Revalidation of M. budini

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 55, Issue 5, Page 681-692, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Micoureus is the most species‐rich subgenus within the genus Marmosa. Conflicting arrangements regarding the number of species comprising this subgenus have been proposed and the validity of M. budini has been debated. Here, we used an approach integrating genetic and morphological data were conducted to reanalyze the ‘rapposa’ group ...

A MassQL‐Based Framework for Rule‐Guided MS/MS Class‐Level Retrieval and Analog Discovery of Cannabinoids

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 40, Issue 16, 30 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Rationale Cannabinoids comprise a chemically diverse group of meroterpenoids whose extensive isomerism, variable side‐chain length, and frequent oxidative or rearranged derivatives lead to strongly overlapping yet characteristic MS/MS fragmentation patterns. In untargeted LC–MS/MS datasets, this combination of structural diversity and spectral

Chitosan/Gelatin Hydrogels With Hydroxyapatite/Silver Nanoparticles: A Dual Antimicrobial and Biocompatible Platform for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 32, August 20, 2026.
Chitosan/gelatin hydrogels containing hydroxyapatite or hydroxyapatite/silver nanoparticles were developed and evaluated for bone tissue engineering applications, demonstrating biocompatibility and antimicrobial activity. ABSTRACT Bone tissue engineering demands multifunctional biomaterials capable of promoting regeneration while preventing local ...
