European Heart Journal, 1992Chagas disease is a leading cause of heart failure in Latin America. Sudden death occurs in approximately 40% of patients with heart failure due to Chagas disease. We report a single blind, cross-over trial of prolonged treatment with captopril and placebo in 18 Chagas disease patients with class IV NYHA heart failure.
