Phase-Dependent Chiral Transport and Effective Non-Hermitian Dynamics in a Bosonic Kitaev-Majorana Chain

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2018
We study a 1D chain of noninteracting bosonic cavities which are subject to nearest-neighbor parametric driving, thus realizing a bosonic Hamiltonian whose form is reminiscent of the celebrated Kitaev model of a 1D p-wave superconductor.

Camshaft Drive Torque Measuring Device Built in a Chain Sprockt

open access: yes, 2012
A device built in a camshaft drive chain sprocket for detecting precise torque fluctuation with minimum change on the valve drive system dynamical characteristics was developed. Strain gages are placed on thin plate areas in the sprocket disc. The signal

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Evaluation of production control strategies for the co-ordination of work-authorisations and inventory management in lean supply chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A decision support framework is proposed for assisting managers and executives to possibly utilise lean production control strategies to coordinate work authorisations and inventory management in supply chains.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
