Mid-infrared spectral broadening in an ultrafast laser inscribed gallium lanthanum sulphide waveguide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report the successful fabrication of mid-infrared waveguides written in a gallium lanthanum sulphide (GLS) substrate via the ultrafast laser inscription technique. Single mode guiding at 2485 nm and 3850 nm is observed.

CHALCOGENIDE CENTERED GOLD COMPLEXES

open access: yesComments on Inorganic Chemistry, 2006
Chalcogenide-centred gold complexes are an important class of compounds in which a central chalcogen is surrounded by several gold atoms or gold and other metals. They have special characteristics such as unusual geometries, electron deficiency and properties such as luminescence or non-linear optical properties.

A New Synthetic Methodology in the Preparation of Bimetallic Chalcogenide Clusters via Cluster-to-Cluster Transformations

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
A decanuclear silver chalcogenide cluster, [Ag10(Se){Se2P(OiPr)2}8] (2) was isolated from a hydride-encapsulated silver diisopropyl diselenophosphates, [Ag7(H){Se2P(OiPr)2}6], under thermal condition. The time-dependent NMR spectroscopy showed that 2 was

Chalcogenide glasses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The first reports on chalcogen and/or chalcogenide glasses date from thebeginning of the XX century. However, it was only in the 1950s that started thesystematic study of chalcogenide glasses. Presently the research on this type of glassesis very active due to their great potential for practical use.

The Combination of Structure Prediction and Experiment for the Exploration of Alkali‐Earth Metal‐Contained Chalcopyrite‐Like IR Nonlinear Optical Material

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2022
Design and fabrication of new infrared (IR) nonlinear optical (NLO) materials with balanced properties are urgently needed since commercial chalcopyrite‐like (CL) NLO crystals are suffering from their intrinsic drawbacks. Herein, the first defect‐CL (DCL)

Rare‐earth‐incorporated low‐dimensional chalcogenides: Dry‐method syntheses and applications

open access: yesInfoMat, 2020
Chalcogenide thin films incorporating rare‐earth (RE) elements with applications in optics, electronics, and magnetics have received considerable attention. Aiming at growing pure chalcogenides, dry‐method syntheses have been developed.
