Euclidean Ordering via Chamfer Distance Calculations
Computer Vision and Image Understanding, 1999Summary: This paper studies the mapping between continuous and discrete distances. The continuous distance considered is the widely used Euclidean distance, whereas we consider as the discrete distance the chamfer distance based on \(3\times 3\) masks.

Chip Formation With Chamfered Tools
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1982The paper deals with the effect of chamfers on the tool edge on the chip formation process. It is found that both in continuous cutting and in the exit phase of interrupted cutting where chamfers are mostly used the chip formation process is not very different from that obtained with nonchamfered tools.

2003Image matching is an important task. There are many available methods for occluded image matching. In this paper we propose new simple image-matching algorithm, modified chamfer matching algorithm (MCMA). Distance transform and conventional chamfer matching algorithm are explained.
