Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Space-weathered rims on lunar ilmenite as an indicator for relative exposure ages of regolith

open access: yesCommunications Earth & Environment
Solar wind irradiation, as a crucial space weathering mechanism, alters the microscopic characteristics and reflectance spectrum of the lunar regolith, and its cumulative effect is strongly related to the exposure time.

A Spiral Seal Method in the Lunar Regolith for Chang’E-5 Drill: Seal Design and Experiment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In the Chang'E-5 mission of the lunar regolith drilling, the gap between the rotary drill bit and the sheath is required to be sealed. In view of the particularity of the lunar subsurface operation, a spiral seal method is proposed based on the analysis ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Long‐Term Radiogenic Heating by Abortively Erupted Basalts Triggers 120 Ma Lunar Volcanism

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
The mantle source and formation mechanism of the recently discovered ∼120 Ma lunar volcanic glass beads (VGBs) in Chang'e‐5 samples remain elusive. By systematically comparing the compositions of ∼120 Ma VGBs with those of ancient Apollo VGBs, we propose

An Improved Digital Elevation Model of the Lunar Mons Rümker Region Based on Multisource Altimeter Data

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Mons Rümker is the primary candidate region for the lunar landing mission of Chang’E-5. We propose a data processing method that combines multisource altimeter data and we developed an improved digital elevation model (DEM) of the Mons Rü ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

A corpus-based longitudinal study of diction in Chinese and British news reports on Chang’e project

open access: yes, 2022
As a milestone progression in China’s space exploration history, Chang’e Project has attracted a lot of media attention since its first launching. This study aims to examine and compare the similarities and differences between the Chinese media and the ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
