An encoding approach for stable change point detection

open access: yesMachine Learning
AbstractWithout imposing prior distributional knowledge underlying multivariate time series of interest, we propose a nonparametric change-point detection approach to estimate the number of change points and their locations along the temporal axis.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Reliability of method for change-point detection of rhythm–cardiosignal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Отримано характеристики достовірності методів визначення розладки ритмокардіосигналу. Обґрунтовано вибір критерію ефективності відповідного методу. Проведено порівняння достовірності методів визначення розладки ритмокардіосигналу, тестова статистика ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Enabling Active Ontology Change Management within Semantic Web-based Applications. Mini-thesis: PhD upgrade report

open access: yes, 2006
Enabling traceable ontology changes is becoming a critical issue for ontology-based applications. Updating an ontology that is in use may result in inconsistencies between the ontology and the knowledge base, dependent ontologies and applications ...

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Accuracy in change point detection.

open access: yes, 2015
a A change point found by CREST at single base pair resolution is considered as detected by another method if there exist two neighboring segments produced by the method such that the change point falls in the gap between the two segments (i.e., between ...
