Position Prediction Based Frequency Control of Beacons in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
In VANETs, frequent beacon broadcasting can lead to high bandwidth consumption and channel congestion. In this paper, a position prediction based beacon approach is proposed to reduce beacon frequency and decrease bandwidth consumption.

Private Broadcasting Over Independent Parallel Channels [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2014
We study private broadcasting of two messages to two groups of receivers over independent parallel channels. One group consists of an arbitrary number of receivers interested in a common message, whereas the other group has only one receiver. Each message must be kept confidential from the receiver(s) in the other group.

Optimal Unviersal Schedules for Discrete Broadcast [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In this paper we study the scenario in which a server sends dynamic data over a single broadcast channel to a number of passive clients. We consider the data to consist of discrete packets, where each update is sent in a separate packet.
