Turbo Equalization Based on a Virtual Decoder for Underwater Acoustic Communication

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
By transferring external information between the equalizer and the decoder iteratively, the performance of turbo equalization is close to the channel capacity.

Evaluation of therapeutic effects of D‐limonene following orchiopexy in the rat model of cryptorchidism

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
D‐limonene supplementation enhances testicular recovery following orchiopexy in a rat model of bilateral cryptorchidism. Treatment with D‐limonene reduces oxidative stress (↓MDA, ↑SOD, ↑GPx, ↑TAC), downregulates pro‐apoptotic proteins (↓TNF‐α, ↓BAX, ↓Caspase‐3), and upregulates anti‐apoptotic Bcl‐2 expression.

Channel Equalization in Filter Bank Based Multicarrier Modulation for Wireless Communications

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2007
Channel equalization in filter bank based multicarrier (FBMC) modulation is addressed. We utilize an efficient oversampled filter bank concept with 2x-oversampled subcarrier signals that can be equalized independently of each other.

The mechanism of labor in nonhuman primates: A look inside

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract While in humans, the flexed position of the fetus and its rotating course down the birth canal are well documented, in other primates the mechanism of labor is unknown. Despite the lack of comparative data, it is commonly assumed that the human obstetric mechanism is unique, and anthropologists have disputed when and why the transition to the ...

Adaptive Discrete Filters for Telephone Channels Based on the Wavelet Packet Transform

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2009
The wavelet transform provides good and in many times excellent results when used as a basic block transform in many systems such as electronic, communication, medical and even chemical systems.

Iterative Frequency-Domain Channel Estimation and Equalization for Ultra-Wideband Systems with Short Cyclic Prefix

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2010
In impulse radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) systems where the channel lengths are on the order of a few hundred taps, conventional use of frequency-domain (FD) processing for channel estimation and equalization may not be feasible because the need to add a ...

Metaverse‐based virtual reality and spatial learning in cervicofacial anatomy: A curriculum‐embedded comparative study in undergraduate medical students

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
Abstract To compare a metaverse‐based interactive virtual reality (VR) session with a conventional 2D online lecture for learning cervicofacial anatomy. Single‐center, curriculum‐embedded, nonrandomized comparative study. Fourth‐year students attended a Zoom lecture (Conventional, n = 73); sixth‐year students completed an interactive VR session using ...

The ORCA‐TWIN qCMOS Experiment I. Science Case and Commissioning at Calar Alto Observatory

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe a pilot study to explore a new generation of fast and low noise CMOS image sensors for time domain astronomy, using two remote telescopes with a baseline of 1635 km. The experiment involves direct imaging with novel qCMOS image sensor technology that combines fast readout with sub‐electron readout noise.

Iterative BlindEqualizationBasedonGibbsSamplerforSIMOCommunicationSystems

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2015
:To solve the problem of symbol detection in the intersymbol interference (ISI) channel of spatial diversity systems,an iterative blind equalization algorithm was proposed for single-input multiple-ouput (SIMO) communication systems based on the Gibbs ...

Contrasting roles of school and public libraries in lower primary pupils' reading

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Libraries represent an important institutional component of children's reading socialisation, yet their role is often treated as uniform despite substantial differences between school and public libraries. This study examines how visits to school and public libraries relate to pupils' reading attitudes, practices and self‐assessed reading ...
