Hydrogen‐Bond–Driven Ion Retention in Electrolyte‐Gated Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Anion molecular design governs ion–polymer interactions in electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors. Asymmetric anions induce hydrogen‐bond interactions that suppress ion back‐diffusion and stabilize doping, enabling enhanced nonvolatile synaptic properties.

Light‐Actuated Fiber‐Climbing Inchworm Robot Toward Endoluminal Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A kirigami‐inspired soft inchworm robot harnesses optical energy from a customized side‐emitting optical fiber, guaranteeing its propulsion along the fiber body. The wavelength‐selective responsiveness of dye‐functionalized liquid crystal elastomers and the application of temporal illumination patterns enable sequential control of robot components. The

Channel Estimation for OFDM

IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, 2014
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been widely adopted in modern wireless communication systems due to its robustness against the frequency selectivity of wireless channels. For coherent detection, channel estimation is essential for receiver design.

MIMO Broadcast Channels with Channel Estimation

2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007
We consider a multi-user MIMO downlink where the transmitter has only estimates of the channel while the receivers have perfect channel information. The impact of channel estimation error on the sum rate is studied. It is shown that the sum rate saturates due to the inaccurate channel information.

Channel and capacity estimation errors

IEEE Communications Letters, 2002
Systems with multiple element transmitter and receiver arrays have been shown to achieve very high spectral efficiencies. The theoretically achievable Shannon capacity is a function of the channel between the transmitters and the receivers. On the simulation level, one assumes certain statistical characteristics for the channel, but on a practical ...

Efficient Channel Estimation for RIS

ICC 2021 - IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2021
We propose a two-stage channel estimation procedure for a multi-antenna base station (BS) assisted by a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). In Stage 1, the BS estimates the direct link from the user to BS and the UE-to-RIS link using partial knowledge of the RIS-to-BS channel. To reduce pilot overhead, the UE-to-RIS channel state information (CSI)

Channel reliability estimation for turbo decoding in rayleigh fading channels with imperfect channel estimates

IEEE Communications Letters, 2002
In this letter we propose a simple estimation scheme of the channel reliability factor for turbo decoding in Rayleigh fading channels with imperfect channel estimates. The channel reliability factor is required for iterative MAP decoding of turbo codes and depends on the error variance of the channel estimate as well as the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR ...

Channel sensing strategy for channel load estimation

Proceedings of the 14th ACM international conference on Modeling, analysis and simulation of wireless and mobile systems, 2011
The emergence of multi-channel wireless networks and cognitive radio networks has rendered dynamic channel selection an important task, and many existing channel selection schemes factor in the amount of wireless activities that take place in each channel, or channel load, to achieve load balance and maximize the utilization of wireless resources.

Channel Estimation in Correlated Channel for 802.11n System

2008 IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control, 2008
Channel estimation is one of the most critical blocks in the design of MIMO-OFDM systems for coherent detection and decoding. Based on SUI correlated channel, we propose a novel channel estimation algorithm for IEEE 802.11n system. The minimum mean square error of the proposed scheme is derived.

Adaptive Channel Estimation in Side Channel Attacks

2018 IEEE International Workshop on Information Forensics and Security (WIFS), 2018
Side channel attacks exploit physical information that leaks from the target implementations to extract secret information, for example keys. Since the observable physical leakages are dependent on the internal state of the cryptographic implementation, predicting (or profiling) this dependency, which is also called leakage model or leakage function ...
