Computational fluid dynamics software based on the artificial compressibility method

open access: yesJEMMME (Journal of Energy, Mechanical, Material, and Manufacturing Engineering)
This study aims to develop a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software package based on the Artificial Compressibility Method (ACM) for solving incompressible fluid flow problems.

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Subgrid channel formulation in an integrated surface-subsurface hydrologic model

open access: yesFrontiers in Water
In hydrologic modeling, the assumption of homogeneity within a cell averages all variability finer than the model resolution. This loss of information can impact a model's ability to accurately represent hydrologic processes, especially in highly ...

Paclitaxel induces NM2‐dependent cellular contraction through GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and RhoA/ROCK activation in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Comparative CFD case study on forced convection: Analysis of constant vs variable air properties in channel flow

open access: yesOpen Engineering
In this study, a steady-state forced convection heat transfer (HT) of air flow in a two-dimensional channel with a circular cross-section is numerically investigated. The analysis considers two heat sources at uniform temperatures along the lower surface

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Solution to Navier-Stokes equations for turbulent channel flows

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
In this article, we continue the work done in [11] for turbulent channel flows described by the Navier-Stokes and the Navier-Stokes-alpha equations. We study non-stationary solutions in special function spaces.

Guiding AlphaFold to predict how Munc13‐1 opens Syntaxin‐1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.

Effects of staggered transverse zigzag baffles and Al2O3–Cu hybrid nanofluid flow in a channel on thermofluid flow characteristics

open access: yesOpen Engineering
This work examines the effects of staggered transverse zigzag baffles and hybrid nanofluid flow in a channel on the ferrofluid flow characteristics. The hybrid nanofluids Al2O3–Cu (2%) flow through the horizontal channel and are heated from the bottom ...

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...
