Light‐Induced Entropy for Secure Vision

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work realized a ternary true random number generator by exploiting stochastic traps emerging within multiple junction interfaces, and quantitatively validated the generation of high‐quality random numbers. Furthermore, it successfully demonstrated diverse applications, including AI‐resilient image security, thereby providing a valuable guide for ...

A New Two-Dimensional Map with Hidden Attractors

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
The investigations of hidden attractors are mainly in continuous-time dynamic systems, and there are a few investigations of hidden attractors in discrete-time dynamic systems.

Non‐Continuous Iridescent Variable Structural Color Based on Metallic Surface Periodic Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study presents an ink‐free laser nanofabrication technique that generates periodic arched microstructures on titanium surfaces, achieving non‐continuous iridescent dual‐color switching. The ridge and side flanks of these structures possess distinct oxide film thicknesses, enabling angle‐dependent selective reflection of specific wavelengths.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

A Multiscroll Chaotic Attractors with Arrangement of Saddle-Shapes and Its Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Implementation

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Based on the step function and signum function, a chaotic system which can generate multiscroll chaotic attractors with arrangement of saddle-shapes is proposed and the stability of its equilibrium points is analyzed.

Hyperbolic chaos in self-oscillating systems based on mechanical triple linkage: Testing absence of tangencies of stable and unstable manifolds for phase trajectories

open access: yes, 2015
Dynamical equations are formulated and a numerical study is provided for self-oscillatory model systems based on the triple linkage hinge mechanism of Thurston -- Weeks -- Hunt -- MacKay.

A Plug‐and‐Play Volume Minimizing Micromixer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microscale fluid mixing has numerous applications where rapid and efficient mixing is required, including drug discovery, bio‐analysis and point‐of‐care diagnostics. Conventional soft lithography processes, however, make the integration of robust and reliable mixing difficult to implement in practice, especially across different flow rates ...

AutomataGPT: Transformer‐Based Forecasting and Ruleset Inference for Two‐Dimensional Cellular Automata

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce AutomataGPT, a generative pretrained transformer (GPT) trained on synthetic spatiotemporal data from 2D cellular automata to learn symbolic rules. Demonstrating strong performance on both forward and inverse tasks, AutomataGPT establishes a scalable, domain‐agnostic framework for interpretable modeling, paving the way for future ...

Functional Disorder at the Neural Interface: How Disordered Nanostructures Promote Proper Growth and Differentiation in In Vitro Neural Cultures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work provides a practical guide for neuroengineers to design advanced neural interfaces, embracing and tailoring the concept of functional disorder. By bridging 2D and 3D in vitro models, this work highlights how non‐periodic, spatially heterogeneous, multiscale nanotopography can enable more physiologically relevant platforms for studying neural ...

Hidden Attractors, Chaos Control and Synchronization in Two Fractional Systems Governed by Caputo–Fabrizio Derivatives

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society
Two 3D systems that involve Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivatives are discussed. A necessary and sufficient condition for achieving the local stability of an equilibrium state of a general 3D system is introduced.
