Osteología y lepidología de Gymnocharacinus bergi (Pisces, characidae) [PDF]

This paper includes a detailled osteological analysis of G. bergi. The species is compared with other characoid fishes, specially Bryconamericus iheringi. Results of this study strongly support the validity of the subfamily Gymnocharacinae as proposed by Eigenmann in 1910. Morfology, spatial pattern and ontogenetic change of scales are also described.
