Powering Nanocrystal‐Based Heat Engines With Light‐Emitting Metasurfaces That Influence Their Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

Hörmander’s method for the characteristic Cauchy problem and conformal scattering for a nonlinear wave equation [PDF]

open access: yesLetters in Mathematical Physics, 2020
The purpose of this note is to prove the existence of a conformal scattering operator for the cubic defocusing wave equation on a non-stationary background.

Characteristics of temporomandibular joint problems

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1977
A review of the characteristics of 145 patients with temporomandibular joint and myofascial pain-dysfunction syndrome is presented. The material includes both temporomandibular and myofascial involvements. The evidence supports the psychophysiologic etiology theory for most patients.

Collision Problem: Characteristics for a Taxonomy

Ninth International Conference on Information Visualisation (IV'05), 2006
The collision problem appears within many fields. The specific characteristics that can be identified in different problems lead to the broad set of specialized algorithms that appear in the literature. This paper deals with the first step needed to address the collision problem taxonomy challenge: a survey that compiles and suggests a set of ...
