Wildlife fencing at German highways and federal roads – requirements and management implications
In Germany, the high risk of wildlife–vehicle collisions (WVC) is further increasing due to increasing traffic volumes and road densities as well as the growing population densities of common ungulate species. As a result, threats to human health and property as well as wildlife mortality of widely spread and rare species increase.

A first herbivore attack primes direct and indirect defences of newly formed oak leaves and, the specific display of defence priming is regulated by rhythmic growth, and modulated by the interaction with the ectomycorrhizal fungus Piloderma croceum. Therefore, the priming memory in oaks can be transmitted to the next growth cycle. GC, growth cycle; SF,

More than fruity scents: Pollination biology, scent, and spectral reflectance of Annonaceae species
We characterised the floral visual and olfactory cues of numerous Annonaceae species and reported their pollinators. We further assessed the olfactory space of most Annonaceae species available in the literature. Abstract The family Annonaceae possesses a broad array of floral phenotypes and pollination specializations, and are important in the plant ...
