Reset charge sensitive amplifier for NaI(Tl) gamma-ray spectrometer

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2015
The time constant of the output signal of the front-end readout circuit of a traditional gamma-ray spectrometer with a NaI(Tl)+PMT structure is affected by temperature, measurement environment and the signal transmission cable, so it is difficult to get a good resolution spectrum, especially at higher counting rates.

Ultra-Low Noise Charge Sensitive Amplifier for MEMS Gyroscope

2009 Fifth International Conference on MEMS NANO, and Smart Systems, 2009
This paper describes a ultra-low noise charge sensitive amplifier for readout of micromechanical capacitive sensors. This CSA employs a band-pass amplifier with n-JFET mu-amp achieving high gain and a very low power. The noise due to resister establishing a stable dc bias at the sensing electrodes is minimized by the capacitance multiplier of the mu ...

Calibration methods of charge sensitive amplifiers at the Colorado dust accelerator

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2020
Charge sensitive amplifiers (CSAs) are electronic integrating circuits frequently used for detecting quick charge pulses such as those produced in semiconductor detector devices and electron multipliers. One of the limitations of highly sensitive CSA circuits is the accuracy with which they can be calibrated due to the necessity of using injection ...

Noise performance of the charge sensitive amplifier for photodetection

2007 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2007
An integrated circuit for charge sensitive amplifier (CSA) was developed for X-ray detection. The circuit has been optimized for reading signals from silicon strip detectors with few pF input capacitance for low power and low noise. Theoretical calculations and optimizations are presented and compared with experimental results. Noise as low as 237 ENC [

A Charge Sensitive Amplifier for time and energy measurements

2008 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2008
Silicon detectors are applied to measure precisely the energy loss of penetrating particles. The classical front end electronics for accurate energy measurements is a Charge-Sensitive-Amplifier (CSA). Modern data acquisition systems, which use time stamps to synchronize events, require in addition good timing properties of the sensors. In this paper we

Charge sensitive amplifier study in 2um FD SOI CMOS

IEEE 2011 International SOI Conference, 2011
A charge sensitive amplifier in 2um Fully Depleted (FD) Silicon on Insulator (SOI) CMOS technology has been designed according to the specifications of a silicon radiation detector. A set of five amplifiers has been produced in order to study the noise dependence on the input transistor size.

A high resolution low cost charge sensitive amplifier

Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1977
Abstract The development of a high resolution low cost charge sensitive amplifier was motivated by the installation of a liquid argon d E d x chamber in a high energy physics experiment (PLUTO experiment at DESY) for particle identification. The amplifiers were also used for the readout of a liquid argon shower counter. The properties of the

Statistical Analysis of the Saturation of Charge Sensitive Pre-Amplifiers

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2007
The problem of the charge sensitive preamplifier (CSPA) saturation is considered. It is shown that statistical uncertainty of the CSPA saturation time intervals is small in real measurements and it is possible to apply a periodical programmable external reset of CSPA (as well as programmable protection of other electronic blocks in a spectrometer ...
