Steering Charge Kinetics of Tin Niobate Photocatalysts: Key Roles of Phase Structure and Electronic Structure

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2018
Tin niobate photocatalysts with the phase structures of froodite (SnNb2O6) and pyrochlore (Sn2Nb2O7) were obtained by a facile solvothermal method in order to explore the impact of phase structure and electronic structure on the charge kinetics and ...

Effect of charge structure on the stability of charge penetration

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract When the penetrating warhead penetrates the target, the internal charge is subjected to extremely high overload and impact loads. If the load intensity and duration meet the detonation conditions, the warhead may experience early detonation, compromising both the penetration effect and safety.

Charge transfer stabilization of hemoglobin structures

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 1980
The porphyrin macrocycle in heme proteins is embedded in a hydrophobic pocket. Although it is clear that many functional properties of heme proteins are governed by the interaction between the heme and its local environment, the detailed nature of these forces has not been explored.

Charge transfer and charge broadening of GEM structures in high magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2004
We report on measurements of charge transfer in GEM structures in high magnetic fields. These were performed in the framework of the R&D work for a Time Projection Chamber at a future Linear Collider. A small test chamber has been installed into the aperture of a superconducting magnet with the GEM structures mounted perpendicular to the B field ...

Track-structure Simulations for Charged Particles [PDF]

open access: yesHealth Physics, 2012
Monte Carlo track-structure simulations provide a detailed and accurate picture of radiation transport of charged particles through condensed matter of biological interest. Liquid water serves as a surrogate for soft tissue and is used in most Monte Carlo track-structure codes.

Structure and stability of charged colloid-nanoparticle mixtures [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2018
Physical properties of colloidal materials can be modified by addition of nanoparticles. Within a model of like-charged mixtures of particles governed by effective electrostatic interactions, we explore the influence of charged nanoparticles on the structure and thermodynamic phase stability of charge-stabilized colloidal suspensions.

An Investigation of the Damage Mechanism of Multilayer Liquid-Containing Protective Structure under Combined Blast Wave and Fragment Loading

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
A multilayer liquid-containing protective structure is composed of a liquid tank, ceramic, a honeycomb sandwich and homogeneous steel. This structure has superior resistance to combined blast wave and fragment loading.

Theory of Charge Sensing in Quantum-Dot Structures [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2005
Charge sensing in quantum-dot structures is studied by an exactly solvable reduced model and numerical density-matrix renormalization group methods. Charge sensing is characterized by the repeated cycling of the occupation of current-carrying states due to the capacitive coupling to trap states which are weakly coupled to the leads.
