Charge Transfer in Be−Ru Compounds

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, 2023
AbstractDuring the investigation of the binary system Be−Ru two new phases – Be7Ru4 and Be12Ru7 – with similar compositions (63.6 at. % Be and 63.2 at. % Be, respectively), are discovered. They both represent new structural prototypes. The phases are located between Be2Ru (Fe2P‐type structure) and Be3Ru2 (U3Si2‐type structure) in the phase diagram ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Charge-Transfer-Induced Photoreduction of Azoalkanes by Amines

open access: yes, 2016
The unique DBH-type azoalkanes 1, which exhibit high intersystem crossing quantum yields, have made possible the exploration of the bimolecular photoreduction of the n,π* triplet-excited azo chromophore.

Reversing the charge transfer between platinum and sulfur-doped carbon support for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
The charge transfer between metal and support is significant for catalysis, but little attention has been focused on charge transfer tuned by metal size.

Synthesis, Characterization and Theoretical Investigation of Innovative Charge-transfer Complexes Derived from the N-phenyl 3, 4-selenadiazo Benzophenone Imine

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2023
In the current study, a direct method was used to create a new series of charge-transfer complexes of chemicals. In a good yield, new charge-transfer complexes were produced when different quinones reacted with acetonitrile as solvent in a 1:1 mole ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Charge-Transfer-Driven Phase Transition of Two-Dimensional MoTe2 in Donor–Acceptor Heterostructures

open access: yes, 2023
In this work, based on first-principles calculations, we propose that electrene can be considered as an electron-donating substrate to drive the phase transition of MoTe2 from the H to T′ phase, which is a topic of long-standing interest and importance ...
