Electric Long-Haul Trucks and High-Power Charging: Modelling and Analysis of the Required Infrastructure in Germany

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
Heavy goods transportation is responsible for around 27% of CO2 emissions from road transport in the EU and for 5% of total CO2 emissions in the EU. The decarbonization of long-distance transport in particular remains a major challenge.

Sub‐nm2 Ferroelectric Domains via Charged 180° Walls in ZrO2

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric ZrO2${\rm ZrO}_2$ thin films host closely spaced charged 180∘$^{\circ }$ domain walls that vertically compress polar domains beyond their lateral half‐unit‐cell limit. These head‐to‐head and tail‐to‐tail walls show distinct bulk‐like structures, natural oxygen‐mediated stabilization, and highly asymmetric mobility, highlighting new ...

Reactivity‐Guided Janus Graphene With Asymmetric Interfacial Electrostatics for Tunable Charge Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Stepwise dual‐side functionalization creates covalent Janus graphene with chemically and electrostatically asymmetric interfaces. The resulting nonadditive surface‐potential response and pronounced charge‐transport modulation demonstrate a versatile route for tailoring the electronic properties of graphene.

Designing Heterogeneous Electric Vehicle Charging Networks with Endogenous Service Duration

open access: yes
The widespread adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is critically dependent on the deployment of efficient charging infrastructure. However, existing facility location models typically treat charging duration as an exogenous parameter, thereby neglecting ...

Giant Anisotropic Spin Absorption in Chiral Hybrid Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Researchers uncover that chiral hybrid organic–inorganic semiconductors absorb spin differently depending on its polarization direction. This anisotropic spin absorption is primarily driven by the local symmetry breaking within the layered structure.

Research on the Supply–Demand Evaluation and Configuration Optimization of Urban Residential Public Charging Facilities Based on Collaborative Service Networks: A Case Study of Hongshan District, Wuhan

open access: yes
The rapid growth of electric vehicles has intensified the spatial mismatch between the layout of charging infrastructure and user demand, resulting in a structural contradiction in which “local oversupply” and “local shortages” coexist. To systematically

Breaking Bottlenecks in Solid Electrolyte Discovery With Large Artificial Intelligence Models

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Large AI models are presented as a route to break key bottlenecks in solid electrolyte discovery by linking materials databases, machine‐learning interatomic potentials, large language models, and autonomous experiments. This perspective highlights how AI can accelerate the identification of solid electrolytes with fast ion transport, stable interfaces,
