During an investigation on the island of Texel, mainly in 1981, eleven species of Charophyta have been recorded: Chara aspera, C. baltica, C. canescens, C. connivens, C. contraria, C. delicatula. C. globularis, C. hispida, C. vulgaris, Nitella opaca and Tolypella glomerata.
