Microwave‐assisted catalytic pyrolysis of textile wastes: Synergistic effects and product characteristics

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the microwave‐assisted catalytic pyrolysis (MACP) of individual and blended textiles (cotton, polyester, nylon 6) using ZnO and a ZnO/natural zeolite catalyst. In a custom‐built microwave reactor operated at 500°C, 1 kW power, and a 15‐min residence time, textile wastes were pyrolyzed.

Sulfonated‐TiO2 Nanorod–Reinforced PEO Composite Solid Electrolytes for High‐Voltage Solid‐State Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study introduces a high‐performance composite solid electrolyte (CSE) utilizing actively sulfonated TiO2 (STiO2) nanorods within a PEO matrix. The 1D ceramic network chemically promotes LiTFSI dissociation and creates continuous fast‐hopping pathways for Li+ ions, delivering an ionic conductivity of 1.5 × 10−4 S cm−1 at room temperature, an ...

Catalytic Pyrolysis of Torrefied Municipal Solid Waste Using Local Iron for Improved Bio‐Oil Yield and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Catalytic Pyrolysis of Torrefied Municipal Solid Waste to sustainable bio‐oil. ABSTRACT South Africa faces growing municipal solid waste (MSW) accumulation and energy insecurity due to fossil fuel dependence. Torrefaction improves MSW for waste‐to‐energy use, while conventional pyrolysis produces low‐quality oxygen‐rich bio‐oil.
