AI‐enabled bumpless transfer control strategy for legged robot with hybrid energy storage system
Abstract Designing Hybrid energy storage system (HESS) for a legged robot is significant to improve the motion performance and energy efficiency of the robot. However, switching between the driving mode and regenerative braking mode in the HESS may generate a torque bump, which has brought significant challenges to the stability of the robot locomotion.

Modelling and Understanding of Chatter [PDF]
Recent analysis in chatter modelling of BTA deep-hole drilling consisted in phenomenological modelisation of relationships between the observed time series and appearance of chatter during the process. Using the newly developed MEWMA control chart [4, 5],

Does Online Chatter Really Matter? Dynamics of User-Generated Content and Stock Performance [PDF]
User-Generated Content in online platforms or chatter for short provides a valuable source of consumer feedback on market performance of firms. This study examines whether chatter can predict stock market performance, which metric of chatter has the ...

Comprehensive Evaluation of Techniques for Intelligent Chatter Detection in Micro-Milling Processes
Frictional and regenerative chatter are the most relevant unstable dynamic conditions in micro-milling. Both phenomena promote chatter, affecting the surface finishing and reducing the tool life.

Public Inquiries and UK Press Regulation: A Case of ‘Fading into Forgetfulness’?
Abstract Why were the proposals for reform of UK press regulation made by Lord Leveson in 2012 not implemented in full, despite popular and parliamentary support for the report's recommendations, and despite the creation of the legal framework for the reformed system of regulation?

Chaotic vibrations in a regenerative cutting process
We have analyzed vibrations generated in an orthogonal cutting process. Using a simple one degree of freedom model of the regenerative cutting we have observed the complex behaviour of the system.

Abstract This article investigates the ways in which late‐nineteenth‐century students at Northwestern University's Cumnock School of Oratory mobilised elocution training and parlour performance to foster mixed‐gender public discourse. I use student publications to reconstruct parlour meetings in which women and men adapted traditions of conversational ...

ABSTRACT Class identity is a crucial sociological concept, but is only ever measured at the individual level. In this paper, we ask: do groups have class identities? And do those class identities correspond with material resources? To answer these questions, we examine data from 31 of the most prominent American religious denominations in the early ...
