Livestock Depredations and Prevention Strategies to Foster Human‐Carnivore Coexistence in Western Mongolia's High Mountain Systems

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
The implementation of visual deterrents (i.e., Foxlights) proved to be effective in reducing the number of night‐time livestock depredations by both snow leopards and wolves. ABSTRACT The decline of large carnivores and the overabundance of livestock practices contribute significantly to ecosystem degradation.

Temporal and Spatial Responses of Chinese Red Pandas to Anthropogenic Disturbance in Meigu Dafengding National Nature Reserve, Sichuan

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
We explored red panda behavioral adaptations to disturbances from both temporal and spatial perspectives. Red pandas favor high‐altitude areas with minimal disturbance and abundant resources. Findings provide a foundation for developing cohesive protection strategies, crucial for long‐term conservation.

Evaluating harvest liberalization strategies on population dynamics of southern latitude temperate‐breeding Canada geese

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The recovery of the Canada goose (Branta canadensis) is one of North America's greatest conservation success stories. Today, continental abundance of temperate‐breeding Canada geese (those breeding in southern Canada and lower 48 states in the United States) greatly exceeds historical levels.

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum AS21 Attenuates Sex‐Biased Glucose Intolerance in Aging Mice via Gut Mucosal Microbiota‐Derived Citrulline

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 8, August 2026.
Aging induces sex‐differential glucose intolerance, with male‐specific citrulline depletion. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum AS21 elevates microbiota‐derived citrulline metabolism and enhances GLP‐1 secretion, improving glucose homeostasis. ABSTRACT Aging‐related metabolic decline, particularly impaired glucose tolerance, represents a growing challenge ...

Aristocratic identification in Felix’s Life of Guthlac

open access: yesEarly Medieval Europe, Volume 34, Issue 3, Page 435-457, August 2026.

Modern identity theories, however, suggest that social identity could be dynamic, situational, processual and discursive. In light of this concept, the present article reads Felix’s Life of Guthlac as a text that constructs an ...

A DNA‐based phylogeny confirms the occurrence of Pseudips mexicanus (Hopkins, 1906) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae: Ipini) in Ireland

open access: yesEPPO Bulletin, Volume 56, Issue 2, Page 294-297, August 2026.
Abstract Specimens of an unknown Ipini were trapped during 2023–2024 exotic forest pest surveys in County Clare, Ireland. This non‐native species was provisionally identified as Pseudips mexicanus (Hopkins, 1906) with morphological identification keys. However, damaged specimens could not be confidently identified to the species level.

Background Research on family estrangement has overwhelmingly focused on its emotional, social, and financial consequences, overlooking how estrangement holistically reshapes the ...
