High-accuracy numerical scheme for solving the space-time fractional advection-diffusion equation with convergence analysis

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
In this paper, the space-time fractional advection-diffusion equation (STFADE) is considered in the finite domain that the time and space derivatives are the Caputo fractional derivative. At first, a quadratic interpolation with convergence order O(τ3-α)

Two‐Dimensional Flow and Thermal Energy Transfer in Non‐Newtonian Casson–Carreau Ternary Hybrid Nanofluids Over Stationary and Moving Wedge Surfaces With Radiation and Magnetic Field Effects

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Efficient thermal management in advanced industrial systems requires improved heat transfer performance, particularly under non‐Newtonian fluid behavior and complex surface geometries. This study investigates the two‐dimensional flow and heat transfer characteristics of ternary hybrid nanofluids over both stationary and moving wedge surfaces ...

Variable Temperature Studies of Two Calcium Uranates α‐Ca3UO6 and Ca2UO5

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The structures and thermal responses of the calcium uranates α‐Ca3UO6 and Ca2UO5 were investigated using in situ synchrotron x‐ray diffraction and neutron powder diffraction. Despite the very similar chemical compositions, the structural response of the two calcium uranates is shown to be complex and varied.

An Electromagnetic Load Identification Method Based on the Polynomial Structure Selection Technique

open access: yesShock and Vibration
Electromagnetic loads can effectively monitor motor health and improve motor design. Considering the weak correlation of the modal shape and Chebyshev orthogonal polynomial in the space-time independent electromagnetic load identification method, a ...

Real-space spectral simulation of quantum spin models: Application to generalized Kitaev models

open access: yesSciPost Physics Core
The proliferation of quantum fluctuations and long-range entanglement presents an outstanding challenge for the numerical simulation of interacting spin systems with exotic ground states. Here, we present a toolset of Chebyshev polynomial-based iterative

Self‐Similar Blowup for the Cubic Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We give a rigorous proof for the existence of a finite‐energy, self‐similar solution to the focusing cubic Schrödinger equation in three spatial dimensions. The proof is computer‐assisted and relies on a fixed point argument that shows the existence of a solution in the vicinity of a numerically constructed approximation.

Convergence analysis of the Chebyshev-Legendre spectral method for a class of Fredholm fractional integro-differential equations

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we propose and analyze a spectral Chebyshev-Legendre approximation for fractional order integro-differential equations of Fredholm type. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense.

Study on fracture parameter calibration and failure characteristics of rock with hole and crack

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The SIF and plastic zone equations for a single hole and crack have been derived. The model's failure state leads to the identification of four types of cracks. The plastic zone increases with increased brittleness and decreased crack length. Abstract Cracks within the surrounding rock of roadways significantly affect their stability and failure ...

On spaces with large Chebyshev subspaces

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 1988
A subspace E of C[0,1] is called a C-space if it contains Chebyshev subspaces of arbitrary large dimension. The authors present some steps towards the solution of the following conjecture, raised by them in this paper: If \(\mu\) is a Borel measure annihilating a C-space then every cluster point of supp \(\mu\) belongs to supp \(\mu_+\cap \sup p \mu_-\)
