ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to identify branches of the trigeminal and facial nerves (FNs) relevant to surgical incisions and injections and the scalp block techniques in the frontotemporal region, and to determine their relationships with superficial vascular structures and bony landmarks.

Facial Image Deformation Based on Landmark Detection [PDF]
In this work, we use facial landmarks to make the deformation for facial images more authentic. The deformation includes the expansion of eyes and the shrinking of noses, mouths, and cheeks. An advanced 106-point facial landmark detector is utilized to provide control points for deformation.

ABSTRACT The orbicularis oculi muscle (OOc) is strongly associated with facial aging as its contraction causes the formation of crow's feet. Botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) injection is a representative treatment targeting muscle. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the anatomical relationship between the OOc and the zygomaticus complex muscles, and ...

3D Face Hallucination from a Single Depth Frame [PDF]
We present an algorithm that takes a single frame of a person's face from a depth camera, e.g., Kinect, and produces a high-resolution 3D mesh of the input face. We leverage a dataset of 3D face meshes of 1204 distinct individuals ranging from age 3 to 40, captured in a neutral expression.

Invasive alien plant species can cause considerable ecological, economic, and social impacts, and the number of impactful species will likely increase with globalisation and anthropogenic climate change. Preventing potentially invasive alien plant species from becoming introduced is the most cost‐effective way to protect Norway's ecosystems from future

L2GSCI: Local to Global Seam Cutting and Integrating for Accurate Face Contour Extraction [PDF]
Current face alignment algorithms can robustly find a set of landmarks along face contour. However, the landmarks are sparse and lack curve details, especially in chin and cheek areas where a lot of concave-convex bending information exists. In this paper, we propose a local to global seam cutting and integrating algorithm (L2GSCI) to extract ...

Abstract IgG4‐related chronic rhinosinusitis (IgG4‐related CRS) is gaining recognition among various specialized physicians. As a systemic disease involving multiple organs, IgG4‐related CRS is still not widely recognized as an independent clinical entity. Given the complexity of diagnosing autoimmune‐related multisystem diseases, early recognition and

Inheritance of a Cheek-Mole [PDF]
PERHAPS the following case of the inheritance of a mole on the cheek for three generations may be interesting. Records do not go back any further, but, as the representative of the present generation is nineteen, it may be possible to see whether it is continued. The grandfather had a peculiar mole right in the middle of his left cheek. Of his children,
