Controlled ferrite content improves weldability of corrosion-resistant steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Corrosion-resistant steel that adds restrictions on chemical composition to ensure sufficient ferrite content decreases the tendency of CRES to develop cracks during welding.

Multi-energy techniques for radiographic monitoring of chemical composition

open access: yes, 2002
A theoretical model of multi-energy radiography (MER) are proposed. It is shown that, as distinct from the conventional radiography, MER allows identification of organic substances and control of their chemical composition.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF COOL GIANT STARS

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
Based upon the catalogue of equivalent widths of absorption lines in spectra of cool giant - stars created at the Astrospectroscopy Department of the Astronomical Observatory in Odessa the abundances in their atmospheres is determined. This determination

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Chemical composition of Lake Orta sediments

open access: yesJournal of Limnology, 2001
Lake Orta (18.2 km2, 1.3 km3, 143 m max. depth) has been severely polluted since industrialisation of its watershed began in 1926, at which time the lake began to receive industrial effluents containing high concentrations of copper and ammonia. Chromium-

The Apollo 17 region: A compositional overview [PDF]

open access: yes
Apollo 17 is located at a mare/highland boundary where the surface shows significant compositional heterogeneities. The composition of surface materials is estimated by analyzing their spectral/chemical correlations.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
