Hexakis-2-(β-carboxyethenylphenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene: Synthesis, Properties, Modeling Structure

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Condensation of hexakis-2-(formylphenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene with malonic acid yielded hexakis-2-(β-carboxyethenylphenoxy)cyclotriphosphazene (2-CEPP), whose structure was confirmed by 31P, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopy and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry.

X-ray crystallography of chemical compounds [PDF]

open access: yesLife Sciences, 2010
Accurate knowledge of molecular structure is a prerequisite for rational drug design. This review examines the role of X-ray crystallography in providing the required structural information and advances in the field of X-ray crystallography that enhance or expand its role.X-ray crystallography of new drugs candidates and intermediates can provide ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
