MXene‐Based Flexible Memory and Neuromorphic Devices

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The unique two‐dimensional structure, excellent electrical conductivity, and diverse surface groups of MXenes have garnered significant attention. Coupled with their exceptional flexibility, MXene‐based devices hold immense potential for flexible memory and neuromorphic systems. This review comprehensively discusses the fundamentals of flexible devices,

From the individual to the community and beyond: water quality, stress indicators and key species in coastal waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
This review examines water quality and stress indicators at levels of organisation from the individual to the community and beyond by means of three case studies concentrating on rocky shores within the north-east Atlantic.

Vibrational Exfoliation of 2D Materials

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Vibrational energy folds, fractures and exfoliates atomically and molecularly thin materials. Combining experimentation and computational methods, this unique vibrational synthesis pathway is revealed. This process overcomes barriers of existing approaches by processing 1000 g/L dispersions without loss in yield.

The effects of stress on benthic algal communities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The effects of stress on both microalgal and macroalgal communities are considered. On one hand the contrasting approaches of studies of these two communities reflect intrinsic differences in plant size, longevity and ease of handling.

Spectroscopic Signatures of Doping in Thin Films of Semiconducting Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This review presents an overview of the spectroscopic changes of semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes upon chemical, electrochemical or electrostatic doping. The presence of holes or electrons directly affects visible to far‐infrared absorption, near‐infrared fluorescence and electroluminescence as well as Raman spectra, which enables in‐situ ...

Reducing pond seepage (1997) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Excessive seepage from farm ponds is a serious problem in several areas of Missouri. Seepage can be caused by many conditions, such as highly permeable soils, continuous sand or gravel seams, highly permeable bedrock and residual rock layer, and in a few

Zincophilic Porous Carbon Interface with Dendrite‐Free Zinc Deposition via Selective Ion Regulation for Aqueous Zinc Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A multifunctional zincophilic porous carbon (ZPC) layer is engineered as a protective layer for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (AZIBs). The ZPC layer guides Zn2+ diffusion and desolvation through ion adsorption sites. Also, its polar functional groups enhance interfacial adhesion and redox activity.
