ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

20 Years of Schnapps in Educating Chemical-Engineering Students [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
peer reviewedIn the so-called Branntwein AG chemical-engineering bachelor students first produce wine from a chosen type of fruit, which is then distilled twice to arrive at schnapps as the final product. Before performing the process, the required steps

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Batch Emulsion Polymerization, a Chemical Engineering Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In industry latex products are usually produced in (semi-) batch emulsion polymerisation processes. Good chemical engineering is important to guarantee product quality and to minimise the energy consumption as well as the production of waste material ...

Identical‐Location SEM Tracking of Pt/C Gas Diffusion Electrode Degradation at Fuel‐Cell‐Relevant Current Densities

open access: yesChemElectroChem
Understanding Pt/C catalyst degradation under relevant proton‐exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) conditions remains challenging because most identical‐location studies are conducted under nonrepresentative conditions (rotating disk electrode ...

Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.
