Influence of an Argon/Silane Atmosphere on the Temperature of a Thermal Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of a silane‐doped argon atmosphere on the chemical composition and temperature of a thermal nontransferring argon plasma is investigated using optical emission spectroscopy. As a result of the high amount of free electrons resulting from the stepwise ionization and dissociation of the silane molecule, even a silane addition of 0.01 vol ...

Desorption chemical ionization mass spectrometry of 1-O-alkyl-2-O-acetyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholines and analogues.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1986
Ammonia desorption chemical ionization of ether-linked phospholipids of the type 1-O-alkyl-2-O-acetyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (platelet-activating factors) and a series of analogues revealed a systematic fragmentation pattern that is characteristic ...

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Precision Measurements of Ionization and Dissociation Energies by Extrapolation of Rydberg Series: From H2 to Larger Molecules

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2013
Recent experiments are reviewed which have led to the determination of the ionization and dissociation energies of molecular hydrogen with a precision of 0.0007 cm–1 (8 mJ/mol or 20 MHz) using a procedure based on high-resolution spectroscopic ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Evidence of Enhanced Ionization in Protostellar Envelopes

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Ionization is a major driver of both physical and chemical evolution in protostellar systems. Recent observations reveal substantial chemical processing in protoplanetary disks by the time the surrounding envelope has cleared.

Analysis of platelet-activating factor by GC-MS after direct derivatization with pentafluorobenzoyl chloride and heptafluorobutyric anhydride.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1990
Parallel analysis of platelet-activating factor (PAF) using chemical ionization gas chromatography-mass spectrometry after direct derivatization with pentafluorobenzoyl chloride (PFB) and heptafluorobutyric anhydride (HFB) provides a facile and highly ...

Cosmic rays and the primordial gas

open access: yes, 2007
One of the most outstanding problems in the gravitational collapse scenario of early structure formation is the cooling of primordial gas to allow for small mass objects to form.
