Modelling rates of gasification of a char particle in chemical looping combustion [PDF]
Abstract Rates of gasification of lignite char were compared when gasification with CO 2 was undertaken in a fluidised bed of either (i) an active Fe-based oxygen carrier used for chemical looping or (ii) inert sand. The kinetics of the gasification were found to be significantly faster in the presence of the oxygen carrier, especially at ...

Abstract A novel phosphoric acid‐treated green coconut fiber (GCF‐C) was developed as a catalyst for hydrogen production from the hydrolysis of sodium borohydride (NaBH4). Characterization techniques confirmed structural modifications, including X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, X‐ray fluorescence, Fourier transform infrared, and ...

ABSTRACT The global manufacturing sector has increasingly adopted circular economy (CE) practices to address sustainability challenges and improve operational efficiency. This study explores the impact of five CE practices—reduce, reuse, remanufacture, recycle, and recover—on key operational performance dimensions: quality, speed, dependability ...

Steel converter slag as an oxygen carrier for chemical-looping gasification
Abstract Chemical Looping Gasification (CLG) is a dual fluidized bed gasification technique where an oxygen carrier is used as bed material instead of sand. An optimized process could have several advantages, including i) one concentrated CO2 stream, amiable for carbon capture, ii) less tar formation, iii) additional reaction pathways for syngas ...

Biomass‐Coupled HER System: A Strategy for Sustainable and Low‐Cost Hydrogen Production
Pine wood is carbonized into a hierarchically porous biochar anode that undergoes carbon oxidation reaction, replacing the oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline water electrolysis. The resulting biomass‐coupled HER system converts water into hydrogen at low cell voltages, enabling low‐cost H2 production from renewable carbon resources. ABSTRACT Biomass‐
